Shark Punch is a small independent game studio formed by four former employees of Disney Interactive. The team has been working together since 2010, starting at Rocket Pack which was acquired by Disney in 2011.
Our focus is on creating games that offer deep, involving gameplay in a streamlined package. We do not make "mid-core" games.
We are fully self-funded and 100% owned by the team.
Born in Switzerland and raised in Finland, Aarne has been in the games industry since 2006. He has worked on one of the earliest mobile virtual worlds, MoiPal, as well as several social and casual games.
Aarne is responsible for all of the art and most of the game design at Shark Punch. He is into Metroid, and more recently FTL.
Jiri joined the games industry as a programmer in 2001 when he was 16, and founded his first company when he was 18. Jiri's most recent company Rocket Pack was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2011, making him a Vice President of Disney Interactive.
Jiri is the CEO of Shark Punch, taking care of whatever needs to be taken care of. This usually includes pushing papers and sending emails, and occasionally writing some code or meddling in game design. He particularly enjoys the XCOM, Fallout and Civilization game series.
Leo is a multi-talented programmer, who is in charge of technology and tools, as well as writing most of the game-specific code. Previously a technology consultant, he made the jump to game development when he joined Rocket Pack in 2010.
A former ice hockey player, nowadays Leo takes breaks from programming by programming something else. His favorite games are Enviro Bear 3000 and InvaTaxi.
Harri is a long-time entrepeneur and games media executive who made the jump to the world of game development when he co-founded Rocket Pack with Jiri and others.
Harri is in charge of business development, as well as doing a lot of heavy lifting on the operations side. A calm-mannered family man who does what needs to be done, his similarity to Walter White isn't purely superficial. Harri owns over 9000 games on Steam, but has only played two of them.
